PM Meets with Chinese Chairman to Build Bilateral Cooperation

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen met with Chairman Lan Tianli of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region at the Peace Palace on the afternoon of 20 April 2023.

During the meeting, Lan remarked that Cambodia is now more developed than ever, with many high-rise buildings and a more prosperous population. He noted that the country has grown in many ways since his last visit in 2006.

He highlighted three main reason for his trip to Cambodia: to thank the Prime Minister for his support of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, especially the China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning; to build a community of common destiny between China and Cambodia by promoting their leaders’ agreements; and to seek the recommendation of the Prime Minister on how to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

The Prime Minister agreed with Lan’s observations and thanked him for his reassurance regarding growing Chinese-Cambodian relations. He further encouraged Lan Tianli to implement existing agreements between the countries in order to deepen existing cooperation.
